As I get questions about the church forums (submit to tpctechcrew@trinitypresbyterian.us) I will make sure to post them here.  There is a separate forum on the site for general technical questions/suggestions, so I will limit this topic to those about the forums only.  I will make sure to update this when I get new questions, or when information changes.

Thanks,
Shawn

1) What are the forums?

The forums are the church message boards.  We use them to better communicate amongst each other.

2) Why do we need forums, when we all have email and phones?

The forums act as a central dynamic repository of information for the happenings of the church.  Use of email and phones is great between 2 people that are on the same schedule.  For communication between multiple people that have varied schedules the concept of the message boards allows for a more free expression of information that is convenient to all interested in being part of the process.

3) I am a member of this church and when I am on the forums it says I am a guest.  How come?

All people that come to the website are guests until they have a user name created that allows greater access and privileges.

4) How do I register for the forums?

To keep from having the forums over run with people using it for elicit and sometimes illegal purposes, registration is currently a manual process handled by members of the tech crew.  If you are a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, send an email to tpctechcrew@trinitypresbyterian.us and we will create your user name and password for you.  If you are not a member of the church and would like to have a user name created so that you can participate on our forums, please include the following information in your email request:  Name, Address, Phone#, Current church affiliation, Ministries that you are involved in that involved Trinity.  This will allow us to create your ID and make sure you have access to interact within the proper forums on the site.
